National Chemistry Week Celebration led by Science Team
Thank you Science Team and Ms. Kennen for leading National Chemistry Week (NCW) at Magnet. NCW is a public awareness campaign that promotes the value of chemistry in everyday life.
We kicked off our celebration of National Chemistry Week 2021 last Friday with a live virtual Flex chemistry demonstration of this year's theme, "Fast or Slow...Chemistry Makes It Go!"

Fall Ball Chaperone Request
The Fall Ball X Committee Chairs are requesting the help of our families in chaperoning the dance on November 13th. We need parent assistance in 1 hour shifts to help us have a magical night. We need help with check-in, monitoring areas, and especially with food from serv-safe certified parents if you have that background. More information on times, responsibilities, and how to sign up are available at his Fall Ball Chaperone link.
Red Ribbon Week starts Monday!
Join us in celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 25th-29th with a spirit week and activities at Magnet. The spirit week is described in the image above. There will also be lunch n’ learns in the Learning Commons throughout the week to learn more about Red Ribbon Week and committing to staying drug free. Students who choose to attend these will receive a small prize. There will also be a friendly competition on the GooseChase App for students to win gift card prizes! Hint to students to keep their eyes open for Red Ribbons all over the school. Our RMSST Counselors will be emailing full details on Red Ribbon Week Friday.
There is still time to sign up for next week's Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk!
You can still sign up for the 10th Annual Magnet MONSTER DASH 5K and we still have tshirts available! The race will be held Friday, October 29th at Reid Stadium and is $20 for students and $25 for adult. Register today at this Monster Dash link!
Signing up is key as students must be registered or volunteering to be present at the event and it is going to be awesome! There will be a DJ, amazing prizes, and a great race. We will also have vendors like Chick-Fil-A and Kona Ice on site with items to purchase.

WOWS Sponsors Trick or Treat for UNICEF
This month, Magnet's Women on the Way to Success (WOWS) is sponsoring Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, which supports children with better health care, nutrition, safe water, and education. In Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, students will be asked to bring spare change to put in trick-or-treat change boxes according to their grade level in the front office or Mrs. Jones’ room.
The grade level that raises the most money will receive a breakfast goodie. Donations can be made until November 5th. Donations can also be made online. If any students want to get their family and community community involved by Trick or Treating to raise money, the links for each grade level are below. Happy trick-or-treating!
