There are approximately 600,000 homeless people in the United States, and a small act of love can make a huge difference. As winter approaches, socks are oftentimes the item most needed. Socktober is an initiative which addresses this need and strives to make a change in the community. During the month of October, students can bring in at least one package of new socks to their homeroom class for donation. To create awareness of the campaign, every Wednesday in the month of October will be “Wacky Wednesday,” where students are encouraged to wear their craziest socks.
