Open House
On Wednesday, August 28, we will hold Open House at Plano East Senior High School. On that evening you are invited to visit our school, tour our facilities, visit with our teachers, and see first hand the educational program that is in place for your son or daughter. What we need to make the evening a success is YOU! Our goal is 100% attendance by our parents. Please print and complete the document using your student's schedule:
Please bring the document with you to Open House. We will follow the abbreviated schedule on the form, which includes a general session in the gymnasium at 6:15 p.m. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday, August 28.
Parent and Student Drop Off Changes
Parents and students- To try to ease the congestion of the flow of pick up after school, we ask all parents to adhere to the following guidelines in the details and maps below.
There are three locations students can be picked up:
Fine Arts Lot
Staff/ Visitor/ Senior Reserved Parking Lot
North Student Lot
Parents will not be allowed to enter in the circle drive/ bus lane from 3:45 till dismissal is over.
If picking up in the Staff/ Visitor/ Senior Reserved Parking Lot, all parents must use the West entrance off Los Rios.
After entering the Staff/ Visitor/ Senior Reserved Parking Lot, parents are then asked to form two lines down each row of parking.
When leaving the Staff/ Visitor/ Senior Reserved Parking Lot, proceed through the bus lane exit by the softball fields.
If you exit the west entrance from the Staff/ Visitor/ Senior Reserved Parking Lot, you will be required to turn right.
No students should be picked up in the medians on Los Rios!
We hope these adjustments and clarifications will help ease the congestion.
Student Pictures
Seniors that did not have their picture taken during the summer will have theirs taken August 16-21. Seniors must have their picture taken at campus even if they are taking senior portraits pictures off site. The pictures taken through the school is how you get your student id and are included in the yearbook. Seniors will receive a QR code to view their pictures after they have them taken.
Video Interns Needed
The PISD Athletic department is looking for motivated students who are interested in learning how to video live sporting events. No experience is necessary. Learn how to shoot video from the press-box camera deck and the sidelines. Instruction will be provided on-site. Video interns are needed for Clark Stadium on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and Kimbrough Stadium on Fridays. This internship will be a great addition to your college resume.
Interested candidates please contact Jim Macaluso at: Jim.Macaluso@PISD.edu

PTSA & Booster Club News
- PTSA
The PTSA has been busy already this school year. The Media Guide is in full swing and will be ready for our first home football game. We have sent out almost fifty $500 scholarships to last year’s seniors!! I am so happy we can support our students this way!! The back to school teacher lunch was very successful with almost 200 happily fed teachers and staff.
It is time to join the PTSA – your membership dollars support our school! Parents, teachers, students, grandparents, community members – all are invited to join. Seniors who are PTSA members will be entered into scholarship drawings at the end of the year. We have are the largest Senior HS in PISD, I would like to have comparable membership numbers to show we support our school and we support what the PTSA does for our school. Go to Joinpta.org to join today.
Senior Parking spots are still available for purchase! The last day to paint is Labor Day so time is running out. Email peshparking@gmail.com for information. Our seniors are so talented, the parking spots look amazing; take a tour of the lot one Saturday and see all their creativity.
The PTSA has a spirit night coming up on August 20th from 5pm to 8pm at the Chick-Fil-A in Murphy. Please come out and support us. Details are in the flyer.
