Lewis Mental Health-Suicide Prevention Month
If you, or someone you know, is in a mental health crisis or at risk of suicide call or text 988. You can immediately find a trusted adult on campus to get assistance for a friend in need.
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline offers 24/7 access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing mental health related distress. That could be: thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotion distress. People can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org for themselves or if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. 988 serves as a universal entry point so that no matter where you live, you can reach a trained crisis counselor who can help. There is hope. The 988 Lifeline helps people overcome suicidal crisis or mental health related distress every day. Supporting mental health is a critical public health need, and one of the best ways we can do that is to make it as easy as possible for people to get the help they need when they need it.
