Causes of Eating Disorders

Some things that cause people to have an eating disorder are, biological, psychological, emotional, familial, cultural, spiritual, sexual, gender, and social factors.


There are two types of anorexia. restricting type and purging type.

Things that cause anorexia are, depression, loneliness, insecurity, pressure to be perfect, or feeling out of control.

Some effects are, lack of energy and weakness, slowed thinking, and dry yellowish skin.


Bulimia is caused by frequent episodes of binge eating and avoiding to gain weight.

Some symptoms are, lack of control over eating, eating large amounts, and disappearance of food.

Some effects are, swelling of the feet and hands, weight gain, and abdominal pains.

Binge Eating

Binge eating is cause by compulsive over eating.

Some symptoms are, rapidly eating, eating even when your full, and hiding food to eat later in secret.

Some effects are, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
