Butterfly Life Cycle
This week we will be learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and the transformations of egg to caterpillar, caterpillar to chrysalis, and chrysalis to butterfly. We will even be bringing in LIVE CATERPILLARS and watch this cycle happen before our eyes!
*What you can do: Throughout the upcoming weeks, ask your first grader about the progress of the caterpillar and what happens in the stages it has been through.

Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been working with two-digit numbers. We have been using longs and cubes to signify place value. The students have seemed to mastered addition! Yahoo! However, we will keep practicing and plan to mix in some subtraction this week.
*What you can do: Encourage your first grader to bring home their longs and cubes, so you can help him/her practice their subtraction skills at home.

Book Fair Week
The book fair will be taking place all week in the common area. You are all invited to stop by and check out the displays anytime between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Monday - Friday. Friday is the last day you are able to submit orders.
