From the Principal's Desk
Dear Tigerville Families,
Mr. Hudak and I hope that each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Please note that we are out of school from Monday, December 22, 2014 – Friday, January 2, 2015. Hopefully, everyone will have a chance to spend time as a family. Please continue to read with your child and have them practice their multiplication facts.
MAP testing begins Dec. 1st and will conclude on Dec. 12th. Students in grades 2-5 will take the Reading and Math MAP tests.
A few testing reminders for students:
- Go to bed early the night before your testing date
- Eat a good breakfast the day of testing
- Encourage students to TAKE THEIR TIME!
Family Fitness Night is on December 8th @5:30 followed by Story Book Christmas @6:00.
We will have a guest speaker come in from the "Spinners Bicycle Safety Committee." Nancy Wolfe will be speaking on bicycle safety, and most importantly, on wearing the proper safety equipment. Mrs. Wolfe and her colleagues will also be giving away 30 FREE helmets to students who attend! Please come join us for Family Fitness Night to learn about Bicycle Safety and receive your free helmet!
Making Healthier Choices
It’s easy to overeat during holidays. But you don’t need to fear or avoid them.
Here's What You Can Do:
-Approach the holidays with extra care. Don’t lose sight of what you and your child are eating. Plan to have healthy foods and snacks on hand. Bring a fruit or veggie tray with you when you go to friends and family.
-Celebrate for the day, not an entire month! Be sure to return to healthy eating the next day.
