Special eNews
Welcome to the 2015-2016 Clark High School eNews
From Sarah Watkins, Principal of Plano Senior High School
I just wanted to send a quick reminder about tomorrow evening’s Calling All Cats at PSHS. This evening is for all 10th grade students and parents, and it is a great opportunity to learn more about PSHS before you have your academic conference to select courses for your son or daughter’s junior year. Please plan to attend this informational evening and learn all about the wonderful opportunities at Plano Senior High School. You’ll be able to purchase spirit wear and visit with incredible senior high teachers regarding course study, learn about all of our award-winning performance art and visual arts programs, and become familiar with all the fabulous coaches for all Wildcat sports. The entire campus will be open for you to visit. Please be sure to look at the maps and information below for more information on what sessions will be held.
CALLING ALL CATS
Who: 10th grade students and parents
What: Calling All Cats!
When: Thursday, January 14, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Throughout the campus
Why: Lots of reasons to join us --
- Learn more about exceptional Advanced Placement courses in areas such as art, math, science, music, foreign language, English, social studies.
- Find out about unique courses such as competitive speech, theatre, music, journalism, welding, auto tech, advertising design, early childhood, fashion and interior design, business and marketing, ROTC, and law enforcement.
- Learn more about teams and clubs! Purchase spirit wear.
Special sessions are set up to answer some specific questions:
- What is AP?
This session will be held in the theatre at 6:30 to share opportunities in Advanced Placement and how an AP course can prepare students for college.
- Amstud vs. AP English/AP US History: Which one is for me?
Teachers will present at 6:30 and again at 7:30 in A102/104 to go over differences between these two programs. Amstud is a two-period block course combining AP English III and AP US history, or you can take them separately. Attend one of these sessions to find out which is right for you.
There will be a general information and welcome in the theatre (Building D) at 6 p.m. Students will also be handing out maps around campus.
We hope to see you Thursday night!
