Den Leader Meeting ~ Friday January 4th @ 5:30pm
We will have a Den Leader meeting at Erikson Aircraft before the Pack meeting. ALL Den leaders should attend. We will go through the plan for the upcoming activities, advancements, calendar, training, etc.
Pack Meeting ~ Friday January 4th @ 6pm
Christmas Tree Pick Up ~ Saturday January 5th @ 10 am
Cub Scout Packs 58 and 65 and Boy Scout Troop 65 will be picking up Christmas trees on December 29th and January 5th. If you are able to help with Christmas tree pick up this Saturday please meet at 10am at the Madras fire station. Troop 65 scoutmaster, Mark Johnson, will have the list of addresses where trees will be ready for pick up. Please share the event to help spread the word.
Trees will be taken to the transfer station out on McTaggert Rd., just past the Humane Society. Be sure to tell the attendant that you are with the Scouts and they will direct you from there. Scouts and parents are invited to stop by the Airport Office after disposing of the trees for hot cocoa and cookies.
Save the Date ~ Pack 58 has been invited to present colors at Congressman Greg Walden's Town Hall meeting on Sunday January 20th. More details to come about time and location. In preparation scouts will be learning about Duty to Country in their den meetings this month.
Blue & Gold Banquet and Pinewood Derby ~ Friday February 22nd
The Pack will order car kits soon - 1 per registered Scout. More details to come about a workshop time/date/location.
We will have a Dessert Auction, Silent Auction, and accept donations for the meal provided. We will need an Organizer and team to work on the details: Meal, decorations, organize auction, set up, clean up, etc. Lorraine will include in announcements at the Friday January 4th Pack Meeting and have a sign up sheet.

Committee Members & Roles
Committee Chair, Lorraine Martinelli : Maintains clear communication between Charter Organization Rep, Cubmaster, Den Leaders, parents, and community. Closed Facebook group communication, email, and meetings. Prepare agenda for Committee Member Meetings, prepare logistics for Committee Member and Pack Meetings. Assists Committee Members, as needed and fills any voids.
Cubmaster, Luis Pla : Organizes and runs Pack Meetings, works with Den Leaders and assists as needed with Den Meetings, planning Pack activities and events.
Secretary, Gena Bennett : Take and compile Committee Member Meeting Minutes, verify for accuracy with committee and disburse to each Committee Member. Maintain a record of documents used by Pack for organizing, recruitment, advertising, etc. Prepare a monthly newsletter from information received from Committee Chair, Cubmaster, and Public Relations Chair. Lorraine will meet with Gena to pass over information prepared so far.
Treasurer, Kevin Jones : Keep record of money received, money deposited with Chartering Organization, and expenses. Work with Committee to develop process for a budget. Keep track of scholarship requests, purchase requests, donations made, etc. Lorraine will meet with Kevin to pass over financial information.
Public Relations, Nina Nelson : Maintain exposure and relationships with local sources such as Madras Pioneer, Chamber of Commerce, radio stations, etc. Maintain public Facebook page. Develop plans and ideas for recruitment. Lorraine will email Nina contacts made and current status of public relations. It was suggested to make a scrapbook of newspaper articles, flyers, etc.
