Quote of the week
"Teaching middle school is an adventure not a job.” – Angela K. Bennett
From Mr. Wingfield
Wow, what a crazy week! We went without internet for a couple of days and the phones were down. This is the joy of construction, I guess. I am so thankful for our teachers that found a way to educate kids even when they had these daily challenges. They truly adapted and overcame to make sure students still had a great day of school. I hope some of you are able to see teachers out and about this weekend and tell them "thank you" for going the extra mile for our students all the time. It definitely does not go unnoticed.
Progress reports have been posted in the parent portal. If you have not joined the parent portal you can call the campus and get the code from Mrs. Frederick. Our phone number is 936-396-3111.
A few reminders for everyone....
Tomorrow the schoolwide Pep Rally will begin tomorrow at 8:45 am instead of the regular afternoon time. This is to accommodate our student athletes that need to leave early for their game.
All NMS students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult who is responsible for monitoring the student(s) while they are at after school events. We also need your help making sure someone is here to pick students up after practices and games so students are not waiting in the front lobby. These two things will help us monitor our students and make sure they are safe. Thanks for your support.
We have "Lunch with Loved Ones" on Monday, September 11. If anyone would like to come eat with their student they can do so. Please call ahead to our office with the number of guests you will have. This will help us make sure we have enough food for meals.
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.

From our Bus Barn
We are still trying to determine our ridership for our buses. Once we establish our consistent riders we will be able to have a better idea of our pickup and stop times.
A reminder to students that they must get out to the bus loop as soon as the school day ends. They need to be on the bus and make sure they are modeling positive behavior. We have elementary school kids on the buses and they are looking for great role models that are practicing and following our campus and district expectations.
