5th and 6th Grade Math

Sumner Attendance Center

5th Grade

This week, fifth graders will continue to use multiplication to express equivalent measurements. There will be a quiz on Friday over lessons 14 and 15. Students are expected to be finished with lesson 15 on Zearn by Friday.

Fifth graders are expected to know their multiplication facts. If your student needs a set of flash cards to practice at home, please let me know, and I will get them a set. Some students have already asked for and received these.

5th grade assignments for the week can be found here. Homework helpers and videos can be found on the 5th grade website.

6th Grade

This week, sixth graders will begin multiplying decimals. We will begin the week with using the distributive property to multiply decimals and move on to using the standard algorithm. There will be a quiz next Monday over lessons 10 & 11. (This may change depending on how far we get this week.)

6th grade assignments for the week can be found here. Homework helpers can be found on the 6th grade website. Videos are being added as I make them.

Reminders!

Any assignment that has a "Please Correct" stamped or written on it can be corrected and turned back in for partial credit. This can be done with assistance from a parent or teacher. The new work must be shown and papers must be turned in by the end of the quarter to get credit!

Students who have completed xtramath will receive the math award at the end of the school year. Students may work on this at home. They will need to log in with my email address, their first name, and their PIN.

Students may also work on Zearn (5th grade) or Front Row (6th grade) at home for extra practice. Fifth graders should have their username and password for Zearn. The class code for 6th grade is K754LL for Front Row.

If your child needs extra help with math, he or she may come to my room before school. I am at school by 7:40 each morning.
