Education

In Bangladesh schooling is a little different. Education is split into three levels. The first level is Primary which you attend until you are 10 years old and only about half the children in Bangladesh attend. The second level is called the secondary level. The secondary level is split up into two sections within that level which are junior secondary, and high secondary. The third level is called higher secondary which is intermediate collage. In Bangladesh they have lots of collages.

Clothes

In Bangladesh males wear a lungi which is a piece of cloth wrapped around the lower half of the body, with a short vest. If you are a educated male you will wear light cotton trousers (called pajamas) with a kind of collarless knee-length shirt known as a panjabi. For females you wear something called a sari. Young girls wear shalwar kamiz which is a combination of calf length shirt and baggy silk or cotton trousers gathered at the ankles. For something more formal you wear your western suite.

Food

Some popular foods eaten in Bangladesh are white rice, fish, goat, beef, pulses, bhapa pitha, and pankhan pitha. Many other foods are eaten in bangladesh , most of then not eaten in the US. The bhapa pitha is one of Bangladesh's famous rice style cakes. The pakhan pitha is one of Bangladesh's crispy fried cakes.

Main Festivals

ʿĪd al-Fiṭr, The muslim month of fasting at the end of ramadan. ʿĪd al-Aḍḥā, or the festival of sacrifice, which falls on the 10th day of the last month of the Islamic calendar. These two festivals are the most popular and main ones known in Bangladesh.

Popular Music

Popular music in Bangladesh consist of classical music. light-classical, devotional, and popular music. These are only some of the categories of music often listened to in Bangladesh. Also in Bangladesh they have there own national anthem. ( in video above)

Sports

Lots of sports are played in Bangladesh. Some of the most popular sports are football, tennis, field hockey,kite flying, wrestling, cricket, touch and run, badminton, and kabadi.

Touch and run is basically tag to us. kabadi is played by The teams taking turns sending a "raider" into the other half. To win a point, the raider must take a breath, run into the opposing half, tag one or more members of the opposite team, then return to his home half before inhaling again.
