In Case You Missed It
Kudos to our Culture Committee which planned a fun Fall Spirit Week. It seemed like we had more participation than normal which makes it more enjoyable. If you have photos and have not uploaded to the folder shared, please do so we can use in our yearbook. If you don't know how to upload, you can email the photos to yourself and then put in the folder OR you can send them to me and I'll be happy to upload!
We had a great time at the Spooktacular Dance put on by SGLA on Friday afternoon. It sure does take A LOT of help to make sure all goes smoothly. Thank you to the following people for your help: DJ Izzie Izz (Izzy Taylor), Gail Vaughn, Kevin Degon, Amy Braren, Jordan Burch, Jennifer Rubinosky, Casey Giambalvo, Susan Weunski, Allison Poole, Lauren Black, Anna Whalen, Sherell Stevenson, Karen Caldwell, Bonnie Marshall, Tonnette Wicker, Ashley Inman, and Joanna Perkins.
The door decorations for being Upstanders instead of By-Standers against bullying were so creative! Thank you to all that participated! I was blown away by all the creativity! Congratulations to Cindy Quiggle's classes that created the winning door.
This week's focus is INCLUSION: Oct. 21-- Inclusion Week: The challenge to students this week is to make sure that there is noone sitting alone at lunch or playing alone at brain break. We are asking them to include someone in their group this week that typically isn't included. The hashtag for this week is #weareALLsanlee .
Our Admin Intern, Sherell Stevenson will be visiting an elementary school in Cumberland County to get a different view and new experiences as a school administrator. Please make sure to introduce yourself to Jamie Gilas, our new intern for the next four weeks. Jamie will follow the same schedule as Sherell and be away on Wednesdays for classes.
Please take time to review and look over testing procedures. Make sure to read EVERYTHING. If you have questions ASK! It takes EVERYONE being on the same page working together to have testing go smoothly. It is also extremely important to be at work AT LEAST by 7:15 on testing days. Roush and I will be in the testing room by 7:00 am so test admin are able to get their boxes and be ready to meet students coming down the hallway at 7:20 am.
AVID Showcase expectations for ALL:
- Lesson plans posted outside your door using the AVID template.
