What's Happening??!!
~ Hawley Elementary School Newsletter: November 7, 2021 ~
From the Desk of Mr. Moretti.....
Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians, Teachers, and Staff,
Halloween Parties, Kindergarten Halloween Parade, Trunk-or-Treat, Election Day, Book Fair, Whew!!
Oh, as Cher sang, "If I could turn back time." I can. And I did! Did you?
Buckle up, stay seated, and keep your hands and feet in the car at all times, as you read on to find out What's Happening at Hawley .....
~ Drop Off & Pick Up ~
As many of you have experienced, with limited bus drivers, we have had days where certain buses have not run. Parents have been asked to bring students to school and pick up (there is also a late bus option). We thank you for your support, patience and understanding.
With people who have never dropped off or picked up before now having to do so, I want to resend our procedures.
KEY Reminders
- Do not drive around the cones, follow them into the playground blacktop area
- Do not come and line up to pick up before 3:30. The line gets too long making it difficult for buses to enter and causes traffic issues on Church Hill Rd.
- Have a sign in your windshield/passenger's visor displaying the last name of the student being picked up (doesn't need to be fancy, just a piece of paper with marker)
Click HERE for a complete of procedures. Again, Thank You for your cooperation and support.
~ Veteran's Day ~
Students will still make and send in Veteran's Stars to hang on our Wall of Honor. The Stars have already gone home and can be sent in through Wednesday. If you need another one, please let your child's teacher know.
We are also having a Veteran's Day Parade. Have your Veteran family member drive through the Hawley parking lot Thursday morning to be cheered on by all of us holding flags and signs and dressed in Red, White & Blue. Make sure that you RSVP so we can plan accordingly. Click HERE for more information and to RSVP.
Thank you and we are looking forward to the parade!!!

Out of the Mouths of Babes ...
"Do you go trick or treating? " a K student asked Mr. M
"Not anymore " Mr M replied
"Do you pass out candy? " the youngster inquired
Mr. M answered, "Yes"
"What do you do with all the candy left over? " the little one continued
"There isn't any left over " answered Mr. M
"Your kids eat it? "
"Um, sure.... as far as Mrs. M knows " ;0)
