COMMUNITY NEWS
YOUR MONEY AT WORK: Remote Learning Science & Art Kits
The newly proposed 2020-21 budget will increase these line items, ensuring another round of supplies will be available (if need be) for second semester. This revised budget is up for approval at the 10/7 PTC Community Meeting (see below for more details).
Huge thanks to last year's 5K donors that have made these early transactions possible. Look for more info soon regarding this year's fundraising campaign.
Team Email Directories Coming Soon
Team email directories are in the works! Look for more info soon as parents will be given either the opportunity to opt-out (for those who'd prefer their emails to not be published) or opt-in (if they checked no to the digital resource permission in their student verification).
Within each team directory, cohort divisions will be noted. Hopefully this info can facilitate some out-of-class connections & possibly make those breakout rooms run a bit smoother. Massive thanks to Cedar Park parent, Lianne Yarvis, for leading this much-needed endeavor.
Cedar Park Forming BIPOC Parent Group, First Meeting on 10/21
The first group meeting is Wednesday, 10/21. If you are interested in being a part of this group, please email Tona_Hattery@beaverton.k12.or.us, and indicate a convenient start time.

PTC Board Proposes Revised 2020-21 Budget; Vote to Approve on 10/7
However, after reviewing our current CDL situation this September, the PTC Board proposes a revised budget to be approved at the next PTC Community Meeting on 10/7. This revised budget better reflects the current needs of Cedar Park students and staff.
Major revisions of note:
- Reduction of fundraising goal & fundraising expenses
- Increase in Library Support to purchase additional more durable hard copy books
- Reduction of Pack Store line item (to reflect first quarter in CDL)
- Elimination of New Student Welcome & Family Fun event budgets
- Reduction of grade level experience line items
- Increase in remote learning Art Boxes & Science Kits

FUNDRAISING
Cedar Park PTC Pivots to Write-a-Check Campaign
No games. No gimmicks. No fuss.
Reasons for the change include: a global pandemic, the drama of online learning, mandated event restrictions, spring PTSD, wildfires, screen overload, unpredictable weather, disgruntled tweens, immeasurable stress, murder hornets, impending doom and parent sanity. #canteven
