Half Way!
I can't believe that we are already half way through this school year! Your children have worked so hard to accomplish many things. I see dedicated teachers and support staff working hard on behalf of your children each and every day to ensure that our students are learning and growing to be the best version of themselves. It's been great seeing the evidence of nurturing a growth mindset at PCE with both adults and children throughout the first semester. We practice the growth mindset in many ways throughout each day. Challenge your household to continue to have open minds for learning new things and making "wonderful mistakes" to learn from! We will look forward to another perfect attendance for our upcoming parent teacher conferences on Feb. 18th and 20th but as always for now, if you have any questions, concerns or CELEBRATIONS you want to share with us about your child, do not hesitate to call or contact us by phone or email. We want to continue a strong partnership with you. Thank you for all of your support thus far this year and I look forward to a strong second semester!

Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)-Please join us!
One thing I have always appreciated about Prairie City Elementary is the strong parental support. Since I have been here, we have had wonderful PTO officers and parents that volunteer to help, organize, plan and roll up their sleeves to get things done for your children and families. We have had various supplies purchased for classrooms, support for PBIS, family fun events and various other instructional supplies and school equipment-ALL FROM THE PTO!! I truly appreciate the time it takes out of your evenings/days to do that great work for our school. Please consider coming to a meeting to see what the PTO is all about and bring a friend or two! We meet the second Monday of the month and offer free childcare. Meetings start at 6:30 and usually run about an hour. The next one is on Monday Feb. 10. The plans are underway for the annual Family Fun Night to be held on Friday April 3! See you there!

Campfire Daycare
PCE houses a before/after school daycare through Campfire.
For more information, please contact:

There's an App for that!
Please consider downloading the Box Tops for Education App! When you do, all you have to do is set up your free account, link it to PCE, go shopping, take a picture of your receipt and click submit and it will determine if you purchased any items with Box Tops on them. This will send the 10 cents per Box Top directly to Prairie City Elementary account you are connected to. Thank you. We purchase many items with Box Tops for our classrooms each year!
