Growth Plans
You can begin writing your growth plans, but will be unable to enter them into Frontline at this time. You can use a Google Doc to start. Growth Plan 1: Building Goal 6.1 Effective Communication - This goal was chosen as we continue to improve our communications with families. Growth Plan 2: District Goal 4.2 - Critical Thinking Growth Plan 3 (Only for non-tenure teachers): 5.1 - Positive Classroom Environment Below are the 3 questions you will need to answer and input into Frontline for growth plans 1 and 3. Please be detailed in your responses. Focus: Based on Evidence generated from the growth Guide, determine strengths and key opportunity for growth. This opportunity for growth then becomes the priority- the FOCUS - for your growth plan. Goal: Create a goal statement addressing the FOCUS. This goal statement should include these essential qualities: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely. What will be the results indicators? Strategy: Describe the specific strategy(ies) to be implemented that will address the goal statement. This strategy should provide the best plan for effectively addressing the FOCUS and include clear action steps and timeline.
Growth Plan 2 Instructions - Growth Plan 2 MUST be quality indicator 4.2

Positive Community (action required)
Thank you for taking the time to fill out this survey for Positive Community. The information from this survey will be helpful as we move towards our goal of becoming a State School of Character.
MTSS Process Refresher - What comes after STAR?
In the whirlwind of back-to-school PD, we started with Dyslexia training. Do you remember all of that information!?!
Because we know it's a whirlwind of training right up front, here's a refresher.
The MTSS Process for Academics:
Here's a link to the process along with the flow chart.
In short -
You do the STAR Benchmark with your entire class (Reading or Early Lit & Math).
Look at the Summary Report for your class on the Reading and/or Early Lit Assessment. The "PR" column will show you each student's Percentile Rank. List the students who fall below the 25th percentile.
You do the PAST Screening with each student in your class who falls below the 25th percentile on the STAR and who's GE (grade equivalent) is below 2 (2nd grade). If a child in your class is below 25th percentile but above 2nd grade GE, then you do a DRA to determine needs for tier 1 intervention.
Implement tier 1 intervention in your classroom (and log in STAR) for 4-6 weeks and progress monitor in 4-6 weeks to determine next steps for intervention.
**You only have to do the PAST or DRA with students who score below the 25th percentile on the STAR. However, you can use your professional judgement and screen additional students if you have concerns about those who are slightly above the cutoff.
**We are going to spend some time on a new version of the PAST screener with teams on Sept 4th, so please wait until after Sept 4th to use this screener.
You can find links to all of this MTSS information on the BSD Staff page. Go to Curriculum & School Improvement, then click on the MTSS button.
