Clinic Minute
Taking a few simple steps can help us slow the spread of disease:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- If soap and water are not readily available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Office Updates
If your child will be absent, please notify the office. A note, phone call, or email to Mrs. McCartney helps the office keep all records accurate and up to date.
Due to Covid-19, visitors will not be allowed in the building during the school day. If your child needs to leave early, please only send in one family member.
Do you need to change your child's means of transportation for the day? Please send a note or call the office by 2:30. Mrs. McCartney does not automatically receive classroom Dojo messages, and contacting the office avoids confusion during dismissal.
Student curricular materials fee balances are now available to view in Family Access. The district offers the following payment options:
Credit/Debit card payments can be made via the Fee Management tab in your Skyward Family Access account through e~Funds For Schools.
Check or money order payments can be placed in the drop box outside of Door 1 at the Central Education Center located at 389 E. Jackson Street, Martinsville.
Check or money order payments can be mailed to the MSD of Martinsville, PO Box 1416, Martinsville, IN 46151.
Students can deliver payment to their school office.

Winter Weather Conditions
Weather decisions are made by a district team who monitor conditions closely both through technology as well as by driving actual roads throughout the district.
When determining a delay, early dismissal, or cancellation of school, countywide weather conditions are reviewed. In addition, we utilize the National Weather Service website @ www.nws.noaa.gov/om/cold/wind_chill.shtml as well as a private product called Weather Sentry.
Decisions on delays or closures will be communicated to you and your family in the following ways by the district:
1.Staff/ parents will be notified through an all-call using School Messenger. (Telephone numbers are generated from our Skyward database. At your convenience, please check Skyward to ensure your telephone # is up-to-date for this academic year.)
2.Communication will be added to the district's website (msdofmartinsville.org) and social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, (MSD Martinsville)
3.Communication will be sent to the following radio and TV stations: WCBK, WISH 8, WRTV-6, WTHR-13, FOX-59.
