Energy Bus Positive Pep Rally Kick-off
Fall Picture Day - October 6
We will have our annual picture day on Tuesday, October 6. For our students attending our Virtual Academy, we invite them to come to the school's front office between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Tuesday after school.
As we are doing with all of our planned events, we have added a layer of extra safety to our Fall Picture Day. Along with own new safety procedures for picture day, the following statement has been provided to our school from Images, our school photography company:
"As IMAGES employees, we are all wearing masks and cleaning/sanitizing the photo stations. This year, we're standing everyone up to be photographed, (no touching a stool) for the underclassmen. We're using a touch-less bar code system where and when we can if we are provided the necessary information for this to be successful. We're always standing at least 6 feet away from the student behind the camera to ensure social distancing. The students are in our presence less than 2 minutes, from start to finish. Implemented also, is a no touch policy on all students. We have put all these safety protocols in place so we can keep the school safe with our presence. All of which are within the CDC Covid-19 guidelines."

Safety is #1 Priority at SCES - Everyone Plays a Part!
As we enter this “new normal” for the 2020-2021 school year, there are a few things that will change in regards to policies and procedures found within this handbook. All changes are to ensure the health and safety of our students and faculty as well as our families. Since the pandemic is a fluid situation, our policies and procedures are subject to change based on the latest guidance from DHEC, CDC, SCDE, as well as District Two. We have added this addendum to inform you of policy changes to our normal routines and procedures. As always, thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we strive to best serve you and your children.
If someone in your home or someone you know exhibits symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19, please contact your child’s teacher, the school nurse, or an administrator as quickly as possible. Do NOT send your child to school or visit the school office when sick.
Our front office will be closed to outside visitors. Someone will meet you at the door, if you have a need to visit the school.
No visitors will be allowed into the instructional side of the building. This means parents and guardians cannot walk students to their classrooms, visit a classroom, or eat lunch with their child. When necessary, visitors can come into the front office following our new policies and procedures, which includes answering COVID related questions, wearing a face covering, using hand sanitizer, and maintaining social distancing.
*The Addendum to The Student Handbook (This is a living document and the School will continue to update our policies and procedures based on DHEC guidance.)

We are proud of our Blue Jays...they ROCK!

Transportation
Parents, please remember the state requirement that masks must be worn on the bus at all times.
Parents are reminded to call the bus delay number for updated information about late buses. The school office does not always have this information. The best place to start is the Transportation - BUS INFORMATION LINE (864) 342-2046.
Mask Wearing Policy
SCDE Comprehensive Guidance on Face Coverings
State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman announced that the wearing of face coverings would be required for students and staff on school buses and in K-12 public school facilities.
We are working with our students to build their endurance to wearing their mask at all times while at school, including inside the family model classroom. Thank you, parents for helping with this practice as it can help assist as another prevention tool for the spread of COVID-19.
To assist students, parents, and educators with these requirements, the SCDE has compiled comprehensive guidance on who should wear face coverings and when.
