Composer
After studying a variety of composers, Copland moved back to the United States. He came back in the mid 1920's after being asked by Boulanger to write an organ concerto. On January 11, 1925 Copland's debut was with the New York Symphony Society. Although after that he became very famous for many more pieces, his music didn't please him. He didn't like how it was seen as ¨American,¨ so he started working with different types of pieces like jazz, folk, and some Latin American. In 1944 he composed to Martha Graham's Appalachian Spring. He received the Pulitzer Prize for it the next year.

Contribution To American Culture
Copland and his friend Roger Sessions started making Copland-Session Concerts dedicated to presenting the works of young composers. Him and Sessions helped embrace the "young folks" talent of music through these sessions. He started these concerts at around the same time that he started planning for the American music festival.

Compared
I would compare Aaron Copland with Taylor Swift. Both of them are very talented in the musical field. Just like Copland, Swift changed her type of music. Copland changed from "American" to jazz, and classical. Swift changed from country to pop, and both Aaron Copland and Taylor Swift's music became more popular after the change. Although their music sounds nothing alike, the way that it effected the country is very similar.
