Collins High School

8th Graders:

Tomorrow morning all 8th graders will report to your homeroom.

ChromeBook Deployment:

The Deployment Plan will move students and parents through 6 stations: fees, digital citizenship, bag and charger, device, log-on, and Responsible Use Policy/ final checkoff. Students are scheduled to attend according to the schedule below.

Tuesday, September 22 (5:00 - 8:00) - Every 9-12 student last name A-G

Wednesday, September 23 (5:00 - 8:00) - Every 9-12 student last name H-P

Thursday, September 24 (5:00 - 8:00) - Every 9-12 student last name Q-Z

Math Tutoring:

Attention all students! Daily math tutoring is provided to all students everyday from 8:00am - 8:25am. In addition tutoring for all subjects can be scheduled with teachers as needed. We will also hold tutoring sessions for grades 9-12 on Wednesday. Please report to the library after school till 5:00pm.

Tutoring is all offered to all 8th grade Thursday's after school. You should report to your assigning teachers until 5:00pm.

High Attendance Day:

September 24th is High Attendance Day. This day is a state supported program and we are up against every high school in the state of Kentucky. Let’s show them who Collins High School is and have everyone present on this day. If you have doctor’s appointments on this day, please schedule them for after 3:20pm. We want to WIN!!

MLCHS Student Board Representative -

We have four candidates that is running for Student Board Representative this year. We will vote on this election Tuesday, September 29th. ONLY JUNIORS AND SENIORS WILL VOTE! Good-Luck to these wonderful students!

Black Achievers and Hispanic Achievers:

Attention all Black Achievers and Hispanic Achievers members, The CHS Black Achievers club is sponsoring a ACT workshop free of charge to the first 30 students who register. The Session will be held on October 7th in the presentation room form 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Food and Drinks will be provided to all participants. Please see Mrs. Donna Jones to sign up.

Swim Team:

Wanted to remind everyone there will be a parent meeting on Monday 9/21 at 6:30 behind the FAC in Colonel Sanders Pavilion. I will have copies of all forms at the meeting.

Practice times this year will be Monday-Thursday 4:00-5:30pm, Monday and Wed mornings 5:30-7:00am and Saturdays 10:00-11:30am. You must attend 5 out of the 7 practices per week.

Try outs this year for the team will be on OCTOBER 5th 4:00-5:30 you must swim a 200 any stroke in under 7minutes.

Any student wanting to participate in FCCLA need to pay their dues to Mrs. Hulsey by Sept. 30, 2015.


MLCHS FCCLA would like to invite you to participate in our second annual color run to be held on October 1st beginning at 5:00pm. The cost is $5.00 per student and $10.00 for adults. Anyone can participate.

WMS Boys Basketball Tryouts:

Boys West Middle Basketball Tryouts will be September 30th - October 1st from 3:45 - 5:45. Tryouts will be at West Middle School. All participants need to have a current physical on a KHSAA Middle School Form.

FCA Dues:

FCA Club Dues are do to Mrs. Canterbury before Sept. 30th, 2015

Book Club Dues:

Book Club dues of $3.00 are due to Mrs. Jones in the library.


MLCHS Grit Team is now accepting applications if you are interested in Joining the team. Please see either Mrs. Stivers and Ms. Gorman for an application. All applications are due October 1st and this team is for Grades 8-12.

Odyssey of the Mind:

If you are trying or wanting to tryout for Odyssey of the Mind, 8th grade through 12th grade, stop by Mr. barrier's room, #131 to pick up a tryout packet as soon as you can. Tryouts are September 29th here at Collins.

Titan Nation Dues:

Titan Nation Dues of $10.00 are due to Mrs. Purdom no later September 25th. The dues will include a HYPE TEAM T-shirt.

True Titans:

Any student who signed up for True Titans, which was Rachel's Challenge must pay club dues of $2.00 to Ms. Blair in room 204 before first club day.

Collins Boys Dance Team:

If you want to join the Collins boys dance team for The Pep Rally October 2nd sign ups are at lunch or talk to Deion Davis, and Elizabeth Ordway. Only taking 9 more Senior males.

Girls Golf Team:

The Collins Girls Golf Team took 6th place this past Saturday at the Tom Johnson Classic in Grant County. Claire Watts took 2nd place in individual results, shooting a 78!

Sign Language Club Dues:

Anyone interested in joining the Sign Language Club please stop in rom 520 before school. There will be a $10.00 club fee. This will include a t-shirt.
