Mechanical Energy
Alex and Jackson
definition
Mechanical energy is the energy that is possessed by an object due to its motion or due to its position. Mechanical energy can be either kinetic energy (energy of motion) or potential energy (stored energy of position).
how it works
In the physical sciences, mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy. It is the energy associated with the motion and position of an object.
three fun facts
Every object in motion contains mechanical energy. The mechanical energy of an object is associated with the objects position and motion. A wrecking ball, sound, and a bird all contain mechanical energy.
advantages/disadvantages
Advantage- protects,in witch many of the activities involve machines lifting heavy objects and cutting materials to smaller pieces.
Disadvantage- using mechanical energy for transport of fluids across long distances may friction and heat energy that may destroy the carrier lines.
