THE SCHOOL BELL
Williston School District / October 8, 2014
A Message from the Administration
by John Terko, Principal
We made it through September and into October.
Next week, there is no school for students on Thursday, October 16 and Friday October 17. The 16th is a teacher in service day and the 17th is parent conferences.
Parent Teacher conferences occur twice each year, the first being October 17. Many teachers will offer times before that date, and to be accommodating, some teachers will also offer early evening hours. It is important that you take the time to meet with your child’s teacher to get a progress report on how the start of year is going. We strive for 100% attendance and look forward to spending the time with you. Please….sign up as soon as you can. Read More...
2013-2014 Parent Satisfaction Survey Results
We would like to thank the 256 respondents who gave us important survey feedback this year. The parent satisfaction survey is conducted every spring to help us identify what is working well and areas needing improvement. We are pleased to present last spring’s survey results here. In general, the majority of the respondents felt satisfied or very satisfied in the areas of house and school communications, curriculum experiences, academic development, discipline, school climate and before/after school experiences. All feedback we receive is valuable to us and helps us to continually improve our practices in order to provide the best education we can for the children of Williston.

VISION AND HEARING SCREENINGS UNDERWAY
Vermont schools are required to test students’ vision and hearing in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade. Students in 7th grade will only have a vision test. If we find a problem you will hear from us by phone. We will also send a referral letter. If you do not hear from us, your child passed their screening. If you have concerns, please contact the Health Office at your child’s school.

If you don't receive this test phone call, please contact Liz Neeld, lneeld@cssu.org, to update us with the correct information. It is important that we have the correct number(s) listed because in the event of a school closing this is how parents will be notified.
