We are having many students coming in late which affects their attendance and interrupts their learning. Please make it a priority for your student(s) to be in school every day and on time.
Dismissal time is at 2:35 PM.
PUPIL COUNT DAY - OCTOBER 6
What is Count Day?
- Count day and school funding are mandated through the State School Aid Act
- Count Day is when all public schools in Michigan tally the number of students attending their schools
- Count information is critical to districts, because each student translates into state funding
It is important that your student(s) attend, be on time and attend all classes on count day!
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Godwin Heights Public Schools is excited to announce that we will be using a new K-12 curriculum for Social Emotional Learning called Lions Quest. Students will be learning things such as Self Awareness, Self Management Skills, Relationship skills, Social Awareness, and Responsible Decision Making. Consider partnering with us by using the Family Connection resources included in the weekly newsletters.
This week, students learned about personal skills, self-confidence and qualities. They were able to build self awareness and identified their strengths. Consider practicing these skills at home as well using the following resources: 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade
