Art to Remember Announcement
Hey there JME Families,
Some changes for our current ATR fundraiser. Effective today, we are moving to online orders only and all future orders will need to be shipped directly to your home since we do not know for sure when school will be back in session. The orders that have already been placed, both online and on paper, are being processed currently and will be sent directly to our ATR parent coordinator. She will be in contact with you for delivery or a meet up. Our order window has been extended to April 30th. Thank you for all of your support and flexibility. Please let us know if you have any questions.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR LEARNING AT HOME
We recognize that we are working in difficult times. Every family and student is dealing with unique challenges, and prioritizing needs in each household. We also recognize that there will be a great deal of diversity in how, when, and where our students engage in their distance learning. Below are some suggestions to help support students, if possible.
Work space - If available, try to create or choose a workspace that is quiet, free of distractions, and set aside for work.
Breaks - Although students can work on their lessons anytime, it can be good to build in breaks. Young students are developing stamina for focus and learning. Building in several movement breaks will help break up tasks and help young brains stay energized.
Structure - While they might complain about it, students need structure. Many of our regular schedules and routines have changed in the last month. Creating and following a daily schedule or routine that involves tasks, responsibilities and activities will benefit children.
Zoom and Live Video Conferencing Discontinued
Rationale
- This directive is informed by a shared commitment to the principles of equity, safety and security.
- Students do not have equitable opportunities to participate in live, 2-way video conferencing from their homes. Students face unique challenges with infrastructure, bandwidth, connectivity, home environment, family safety and other concerns.
- Live, 2-way video conferencing with students, especially in groups, can potentially violate student and family privacy protections (FERPA).
- The FBI and ODE have issued warnings to school districts and parents regarding the safety and security concerns posed by live 2-way video conferencing and the Zoom platform.
- Similar policies have been or will be adopted by most school districts in Oregon and Clackamas County.
