Thank you for your food donations during our collection drive. We will let you know the total number of cereal boxes we collected when we return from Thanksgiving break.
Just a reminder we will have Electronic Eats Food Truck this Monday from 11am-2pm. Families and members of the community can place orders for pick up.

Literacy Update
GEODES
Geodes are the decodable books that Kindergarten , First and Second grade use to apply the phonics skills they are learning in Fundations. They are designed to allow all students to have access to the information. The scope and sequence of skills is aligned to the skills being taught. In this way the students can practice decoding words that contain the phonics patterns they are working on. These books are used in small groups to facilitate teacher student interaction and guidance in decoding and comprehension.

November Highlights We Celebrate
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 23rd this year. If you ask us, Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays of the year. Not only is it a day dedicated to feasting on delicious turkey, sides, and desserts surrounded by loved ones, but it’s also a time for reflecting on all the things you’re thankful for.
Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to catch up with family you haven’t seen all year. Regardless of how big your family is or how many stops you plan to make during the day, there’s something special about sitting around a table with loved ones to share a meal and a few laughs.

Pre- K Counts
PreK Counts
Montgomery County Intermediate Unit just opened up two Pre-K Counts classrooms within the North Penn School District, in Bridle Path and Montgomery Elementary Schools. Each class will have 20 pre-school students between the ages of 3-5 years old whose families are income eligible (falling under the 300% poverty guidelines). The MCIU Pre-K Counts classes have a certified teacher and a teacher assistant. The program is a full-day program where breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided at no cost to the families. While our philosophy is play-based, our goal is for each student to be academically, socially and emotionally prepared for success in North Penn School District kindergarten classrooms. Our MCIU Pre-K Counts teams not only consist of the teaching staff, but also Family Engagement Workers to help families navigate school requirements, attendance regulations, information about community resources available, and when the time comes, to register for North Penn Kindergarten. If you have any questions or would like to apply for your student (must have turned 3 before Aug 31), please reach out to prekcounts@mciu.org.
