Multicultural Performing Arts Assembly
The annual Hamilton Multicultural Performing Arts Assembly showcased the diverse cultures and talents on our campus. Student performers auditioned to sing, dance, or speak in a representation of their cultural pride.
Hamilton is unique and rich with culture and diversity and this assembly is meant to display and celebrate our differences and what unites us as one. Hamilton Student Government planned and facilitated the assembly and it was a great success for the third year in a row and will be for many years to come!

Air Force JROTC Scholarship Recipients
Five Hamilton High School Air Force Junior ROTC cadets were recently selected for the Air Force Chief of Staff Private Pilot Scholarship Program. Senior Ryker Talbott and juniors Zac Plamondon, Sierra Munroe, Sophia Navarro, and Neil Rastogi were identified in the recent announcement from Headquarters AFJROTC. The program, also known as the "AFJROTC Flight Academy" is an Air Force initiative in collaboration with the commercial aviation industry to address a national pilot shortage.
This highly competitive scholarship, valued at over $22,500, is an all-expense-paid flight training program administered by Headquarters Air Force Junior ROTC. The program will be conducted during the summer at 15 select partner universities across the country. 270 AFJROTC cadets were competitively selected from the 125,000+ Air Force JROTC cadets attending 900 high schools across the country and at Department of Defense installations worldwide. Attendees will receive comprehensive, FAA-certified ground instruction and over 40 hours of flight instruction, giving each student the opportunity to earn an FAA Private Pilot Certificate (private pilot license), with no commitment to military service required or implied.
Please congratulate Ryker, Zac, Sierra, Sophia, and Neil when you see them!
Student Teacher Spotlight - Coach Leo
I am a motivator, a learner, a hard-worker, and a dreamer, but most of all I am an educator. I’ve always wanted to make an impact on people’s lives, and I think teaching students is one of the best ways to do it.
Growing up I was always into sports, whether it be playing them or being a fan of them. I swam for 11 years and was team captain of the varsity swim team my junior and senior year. I played varsity volleyball my junior and senior year and was team captain my senior year. Participating and being captain of these teams in high school taught me valuable leadership qualities that I hope to pass onto my students.
My goal as a teacher and as a person is to impact students’ lives in a positive way so that they can grow into great human beings in their future.
I am looking forward to teaching the students at Hamilton High and working alongside Coach Robertson!
Student Teacher Spotlight - Saul Munguia
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Saul Munguia, and I am a senior at Arizona State University. I am studying Secondary (Physical Education) in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. It is a pleasure to be placed at Hamilton High School for my student teaching experience. I am looking forward to working under my mentor Ms. Visser for this spring semester. As a student teacher, I will spend time observing the class structure, and lessons that Ms. Visser teaches. I will work closely with my mentor to co-plan and teach lessons in physical education and yoga.
About myself, I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. I come from a small family and first to attend college. My career goal is to become a physical education teacher and coach. Physical education is very important to me, and I plan as an instructor to share my love for exercise and sports with students. Also, make a positive impact on their lives to encourage them to pursue higher education. Some interesting aspects of me that I enjoy are reading sports literature, hiking, playing and watching sports. Overall, I truly believe that if you have a certain goal or dream don't let anyone tell you that you can't accomplish it. It just takes work and determination to reach your goal or dream.

Celebrating La Chandeleur
Students from Chef Turcotte’s Culinary 1 classes and Mrs. Hamilton’s French 1 classes worked together this week to make crêpes to celebrate La Chandeleur, which is celebrated in France on February 2 every year.
Known as “Groundhog Day” here in the U.S., students learned that the French celebrate the end of winter and the return of sunny days with crêpes, which symbolize the sun. There is also a traditional coin ritual: if you can flip a crêpe while holding a coin in your other hand, you and your family will have good fortune the rest of the year. Several students attempted to flip their crêpes and were successful!
Students from both classes enjoyed devouring their creations, which they filled with their choice of Nutella mousse, whipped cream, and strawberries.
