TSF Structures Visit

Ever think about how Carver Hawkeye was constructed and the details that went into the design?

Twelve high school students from Mr. Tuthill’s Prairie Manufacturing class toured TSF Structures on November 4th. Students learned how essential math and technology skills are to the construction industry. They walked through various roles: fabrication, project management, in house drafting, and material processing.

TSF Structures is a supplier of structural steel, joists, deck, Division 5 and misc metals for the commercial, industrial and institutional construction industry in Iowa and the surrounding states. They worked on Kinnick Stadium’s north end zone expansion in addition to many other local projects.

College and Career Transition...

Save the Date(s)!

FAFSA Season is here!! Did you know that the FAFSA takes approximately 23 minutes to complete? Or, that completing the FAFSA can open up federal, state and institutional financial aid opportunities? Prairie High School strongly encourages ALL eligible students to complete the FAFSA regardless of your income level. In fact, we feel the FAFSA is so important for families to complete that we are hosting an additional FAFSA Workshops at Prairie High School (December 18th, 9am-12pm)!

Complete the FAFSA by December 21st, 2021 and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win gift cards to local restaurants and shops, college swag and FREE prom tickets!

Class of 2022 November Checklist: College, scholarship and financial aid application deadlines are happening! Throughout the rest of 2021 you should be diligently working on your college, scholarship and financial aid applications. Do not wait until the day it is due to submit your applications!

  • Create an FSA ID (student and parent)

    • The FSA ID is an electronic signature you will use to sign the FAFSA and all things financial aid. Students and a parent will need to create an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA.

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): The FAFSA is now open! Students who will be attending college during the 2022-2023 academic year should start filling out the FAFSA.

  • College Scholarship Service (CSS Profile): The CSS Profile is an additional institutional financial aid form required by some colleges and universities. Do your research. Know if your schools need it.

  • Complete your College Applications

  • Early Action Deadlines: Many of you will be applying to your school’s Early Action Deadlines. Remember, these tend to fall between early November and early December. Not sure if Early Action is right for you? Come chat with Ms. Rawson!

  • Scholarships: Scholarships are a year-round job until you graduate from college. Scroll down to check-out the scholarship list on Xello!

  • Military or Career Bound? There are so many options within career and military to explore!
