CLASSROOM NEWS
Kindergarten: Hi Kindergarten Family, we will continue our lesson on Thanksgiving and continue to do some fun activities with learning about Thanksgiving. We only have 2 days next week so we hope everyone has a fun and safe Thanksgiving Break!
First Grade: Hello from First Grade! Next week, we will be learning about the history of Thanksgiving. In math, we’ll be completing Thanksgiving math review activities. We hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!.
Second Grade:
Greetings from Second Grade. As a reminder our field trip to the NC Zoo is vastly approaching. Money for the trip is due tomorrow. Tomorrow is the absolute last day to pay. A reminder letter will be sent home on Monday with more details concerning the day of the trip. Next week we will have fun Thanksgiving activities that will review what we have been learning this week. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
Exceptional Children:
The students will be learning about the letter Ll. They will learn about the sound and the letter through the letterland character Lucy Lamplight. In math the students will learn about the number 8 and how to combine sets to tell how many in all.
Resource:
Art: Our awesome little artists have been getting into the Thanksgiving spirit this week! They are using their creativity to make one of a kind turkeys!!!
Music: The music room has opportunities for self-expression and public speaking as we discuss “Environmental and Musical sounds”. Don’t forget! Music Google Classroom always has new resources for students. Each week, I upload the lesson and resources. A few weeks ago, ClassDoJo had the instructions for accessing Music Google Classroom. We will continue our study of Thanksgiving and seasonal songs. Happy Thanksgiving holiday!

From the Nurse's Desk
Is it Allergies or a Cold?
1. If fever is present, it is likely to be a cold or viral infection of some kind, NOT an allergy.
2. Fatigue and exhaustion usually indicate a cold or viral illness.
3. Itchy, watery eyes indicate allergies, NOT a cold.
4. Clear, THIN nasal drainage along with itchy, watery eyes suggest allergies, while THICK nasal drainage indicates a cold or infection.
5. A common cold rarely has symptoms lasting over a week, while allergy symptoms will last longer (as long as allergens like pollen are present).
There’s no cure for the common cold. Typical treatments include rest, fluids, and over-the-counter medications. Nasal rinses can bring relief for both colds and allergies as well.
