Fan Club, Celebrations and Birthdays!
Fan Club:
From Lesley: Thank you to Courtney Lough for taking the lead with re-structuring and adapting ESY to fit online learning. Her insight and forward thinking in planning with ARC and Guilford County NC helped to bring the new format to life. She included Science DAILY for our ESY students and invited me to be part of the planning (pre-pandemic) and the redesign for the new format. Anthony created an awesome Canvas shell based on Courtney and Emily’s vision. I enjoyed working with Courtney and Emily in the Canvas course to bring Marine Life alive for our students. A shout out to our resident Marine Biologist Mark Butler for his WOW Facts. This was truly an OLL team project with a spirit of teamwork and integration from the beginning.
From Jan: I want to give a shout out to my high school team of Iravonia Abiola and Tressa Lima. I feel so blessed and very excited to work on such an incredibly talented team. You are very passionate and committed to Pasco’s mission and vision. Looking forward to starting our High School work next year #successandequityforallstudents!!
From Lea and Samantha: To the amazing and talented Kristin Ingold whose leadership, support, dedication and amazing tenacity set the stage for some impressive recognition in Pasco. Day in and day out, conversation by conversation, tear by tear she persevered and truly lit a match that has set fire to prehistoric practices that totally interfered with our pursuit of high expectations, rigorous coursework and enrollment access for all students. Thank you Kristin, thank you, thank you, thank you! As you have pointed out, this accomplishment indicates significant growth from where we were, but must now serve as the fuel to continue our press on equitable instructional practices. Bravo!
From Courtney: During this time of distance learning, we have all come together to support our teachers and students continue to learn during quarter 4. When asked to create a plan for ESY to be fully virtual, I had an idea, a vision for what it could be, but my team helped make it happen. Lesley Kirkley immediately began to collaborate with us to ensure we had a tightly aligned science connection and activities to engage students beyond the research. Mark Butler shared his ocean expertise and provided us with weekly WOW facts to engage students and be a model for their work. Today, June 1, with the help of Danielle, Daniela, and Emily, we launch our virtual ESY PD for over 100 teachers and June 8th we launch ESY for our 3rd graders focused on becoming Marine Life experts. A special thank you also goes to Anthony for building the shell of our course and helping me get it ready for a soft launch for our PD. I am proud of our collaboration and the work we have completed in a short amount of time, while also doing our other work of getting the Learning Networks ready to launch. Thank you!
