November is Picture Book Month

Celebrate Picture Book by sharing a picture book with a child in your life. In addition to being a great vehicle for conversation, picture books help build visual literacy skills and appreciation for the arts. Many picture books have a rich vocabulary and are a great choice for read-alouds to young children, helping to build their vocabulary, which is a key early literacy skill. Read one today!

Need help selecting the perfect picture book? Come see us at the library-we're always happy to help.

Early Literacy Rhyme: Little Red Caboose at the Oregon Coast Historical Railway

Little Red Caboose

Little red caboose,

Chug, chug, chug,

Little red caboose,

Chug, chug, chug,

Little red caboose

Behind the train, train, train, train, train,

Smokestack on my back, back, back, back, back

Coming down the track, track, track, track,

Little red caboose behind the train,

Choo! Choo!
