Technology Support
Blocked Accounts and VPNs (Virtual Private Network)
We have had some reports of students accounts being block for suspicious activity. We have found, in the past, that some students have installed a VPN on their device. A VPN will allow them to bypass the school filter to play blocked games or watch YouTube videos. You can help your child avoid their account being blocked by checking the list of available wireless networks to see if a VPN exists and then uninstalling it.
The only fix for this problem is for our building technician to send in a work order ticket that may take up to a week to be resolved.
System Logins
OPS utilizes a single user sign in system with all O365 applications and most other OPS applications. Your child's username is s + first 5 letters of their last name their first intial and then then last 3 digits of their lunch code. Their password is their lunch code. If needed, passwords can be reset by emailing Ms. Tolliver or Mr. Spore.

Laptop Broken?
Please email Mr. Spore (brandon.spore@ops.org) if your child has a laptop that is unusable. Examples of unusable laptops are:
- entire screen is broken
- won't hold a charge or power on
- multiple keys on the keyboard are not functioning
Mr. Spore, Ms. Tolliver, or Mr. CK will then set up a time to switch out the laptop at Buffett.

Emergency Internet Need for Students
If you do not have internet service or cannot afford internet service in your home, support can be found by following these steps. The Sherwood Foundation has generously offered to help families in need. If you know someone in our Buffett community that does not receive this communication due to the lack of internet service, please reach out and share this information.
Step 1 (completed by the family): Verify eligibility and begin the application process.
Parents/guardians should visit http://www.cox.com/c2c and select “get started”.
If you not already have internet in the home and cannot access the website, call 855-222-3252.
Step 2 (completed by the family): Once you have established you qualify and your account is set up,
- Call Mr. CK and provide him with your account number and the date you signed up.
Step 3 (completed by Mr. CK): Mr. CK will work with the Sherwood Foundation to have your account paid through the end of this crisis.
Should you find yourself having trouble with this process, please reach out to your grade level counselor or administrator. If you call their OPS phone number, they will receive an email of the voicemail you leave them. They will then be able to connect with you and help you through the process. You can call the main building and follow the prompts to connect to the extension you need (531-299-2320).

Hello 5B Students!!
While we certainly wish that we were spending our days together, we can only do our part to BE OUR BEST while we’re apart. Be hardworking and stay engaged with each class as much as you can. Be kind to your family and understand that they are taking on roles that are new. Be safe and do everything you can to stay well. Finally, you have an opportunity to be more trustworthy than ever before! Help take care of your home & siblings if your parents are still working (and even if they’re not). Turn off the TV or other screens when you know it’s more than enough. Grab a book for yourself when you know it’s been awhile since your last story. Find a spot to do a few push ups and sit ups if you’ve been sitting around a little too long. This is your moment and since you’re a 5B Buffett Bobcat, we know you’ll make us proud! —lots of love (and laughs) to you!

Hello 6A families!
We miss you and hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy!
In these challenging times, we highly encourage students to keep up with their academics. Not only is it important to keep brains engaged and active, this is valuable information that students will need for next year! Additionally, the normality and routine is a comfort during times like these.
Please check emails at least daily, and be on the lookout for lessons and updates from teachers! We are continuing to work hard for all of you!
If you need assistance with anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of your teachers.... we are here for you!!
Be safe, be well!
Much love,
6A teachers
6B Students and Parents,
We miss you all very much! Your teachers are working hard to reach out to every student! We have heard from so many, but we are not at 100% yet. Remember to check your email every day for the lessons. We are also adding the lesson information to the homework page! If you have any missing work from Quarter 3 that you would like to turn in before your final grade, please do so by May 1st. Don't forget to email your teachers and let them know you have completed the missing work so we can go back and grade it. Let us know if you have any questions! We are here for you. #6BmonSTARS

We are impressed with your resilience adapting to the new norm. The best way to keep yourselves in the loop is through
- OneNote
- Infinite Campus.
We miss you! Feel free to reach out to any of us at any time!
7B Students and Families,
We hope you and your family are doing well. We've heard from many of you, but if you haven't reached out to us, please email one of us to let us know how you're doing. We miss seeing your faces and talking to you. Thanks for being patient with us as we maneuver to remote teaching.
These are some reminders for you and your family:
- Please check your email and teams for assignments.
- Please check the Buffett webpage under the 7B homework tab for detailed directions on the weekly assignments.
- Please check your email several times a day for any updates from us.
- Shut down your computer every day to allow for updates.
- Another suggestion to help with updates is to go to start (bottom left hand corner), click on settings (it looks a little like a wheel), click on "update and security", and then click on "check online for updates from Microsoft Update."-this should be done if shutting down your laptop didn't work for syncing with your One Note or Teams.
- Teachers will use infinite campus to record it work is turned in or missing.

Please continue to work on your assignments. Use the platform set up by your teacher, whether it is on Teams, OneNote or email. You can reach out to your teachers with any questions; we love hearing from you!
