Getting Diabetes

Diabetes develop when the body doesn't make enough insulin. Diabetes are also caused by high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and genes passed down from family.

Symptoms of Diabetes

Type one diabetes symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and stomach pains. Type two diabetes symptoms can include frequent urination, weight loss, lack of energy, excessive thirst.

Health Effects

There's a higher risk for a heart attack and stroke. You can have vision problems and higher problems of blindness. It can damage the kidneys which can lead to kidney failure.

Treatment for Diabetes

Managing types of food that you digest daily can control your blood pressure. Exercising and using types of medication that helps maintain your blood pressure also so helps treat your diabetes.

Who Get's It?

Anyone can get diabetes, the risk of getting diabetes increases as you get older. People that have close relatives with diabetes are also likely to get it.

Diabetes Symbol

There wasn't a diabetes symbol until 2006. The point of having a diabetes is to give it an identity, to support awareness about diabetes.
