December Newsletter

Happy Holidays

Welcome to December! It seems that we have blinked and have made our way to the end of first semester. I am so proud of all that our students and staff have accomplished in this first part of the school year. I hope you are seeing the growth at home because we certainly are making gains. Beyond the academics, I am blown away by the kindness that I see daily. From making Christmas decorations for military troops overseas to simply helping keep our building clean and tidy. Our students are incredible young people. Thank you for all that you have done at home to support them.

We can't wait to spread some holiday cheer at our 3rd and 4th grade Christmas Programs next week. The third grade Christmas Program will be on Monday, December 5th at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Fourth grade will have their program on Tuesday, December 6th at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. that night as well.

Please be sure to read on for more announcements. Parents of 5th graders - pay close attention to the immunization opportunity a little further down. Students entering 6th grade will need Tdap and Meningococcal Vaccines before school starts next year. Please contact Jill Lawalin with any questions at

Filling the Basket

EACH CLASSROOM AT ICIS WILL BE PREPARING A BASKET FULL OF food donations for families in need in our community. We will be using this service project to help convey and teach the meaning of the season. Each basket is due to the office on Friday, December 9th. This will allow time for us to organize the basket with some of the student’s help.

Your student's homeroom teacher will be sharing details of what their classroom should bring in for the basket. Thanks for your support!
