MARCH'22 UPDATES
A Newsletter Publication by Children's Wishing Well
School Holiday Fun!
Over the March school holidays, the children were kept on their toes with various activities. Some highlights were:
- Hiking to the MacRitchie Treetop Walk where some of them overcame their fear of heights.
- An introduction to yoga through a fun story into the jungle where they explored various animal poses.
- A Pottery session where they got to mold and paint their own little creatures.
This were just some of the many wonderful activities and we have no doubt that our children had a blast!
Bringing Awareness to body image
Social Media plays a huge role in young children's perception of their bodies. Without awareness and the right tools, this unfortunately can create a negative body image and poor self esteem.
Through a workshop conducted by NIE Trainee Counsellors, the children got a better understanding of body image, how social media impacts it, their own relationship with their body image and how they can feel good about themselves and their body.
At Children's Wishing Well we understand and see the value of supporting our children mentally and emotionally. Children and Youth of today face many new challenges amidst a technology driven world.
We hope this awareness will help them grow into confident teens in the years to come!
Donation of household items
In the month of March, many of our families received new household items thanks to the generous support from Microsoft employees!
Over a 100 items were purchased from our Amazon wish list including study tables, standing fans, printers, ovens and so on. Additionally, they also contributed items for our centre's usage such as learning resources and even counselling tools.
Thank You for all the generous support so far! Here is the list if you are keen to donate directly: (https://tinyurl.com/CWWAmazonwishlist) Should your company be keen to work with us for your CSR programme in 2022, do reach out!
Donation of CDC Vouchers
If you still have your vouchers and are keen to donate them, we encourage you to do so with the assurance that they will go directly to families/single mums whom have been identified to need extra help.
The extra help will allow them to get their basic necessities which could include diapers and milk powders or food for their little ones.
To contribute, head to your nearest CC to print hardcopies of the vouchers as only hardcopies are accepted. Then, write in to us at info@wishingwell.org.sg to schedule and drop it off at our centres on weekdays.
