February 25-March 1st Peak Memo
Culture Collaboration Curriculum
Message From Director
February is over! Can you believe how fast this month has gone by. I continue to be so proud of the work being done in our building. The way in which we are intentionally digging in to our scholars MAP performance and determining how to spiral in the learning has really been refreshing. I know that it has been a challenge for some to embrace not teaching the identified skills in isolation from MAP and I again am really proud of how you pushed yourself and your thinking. I am excited to see the growth of scholars from upcoming common assessments.
I know it is a lot with the testing and meeting the needs of the scholars according to the data, but again THANK YOU for willing to take on that charge, know that I see and appreciate your dedication and hard work! WE GOT THIS! Let's continue to do this work together and I know we will see the results we are working hard for.

Word Consciousness/ IB
IB
This week Ms. Murray’s Bulls will lead announcements. Our IB learner profile this week is reflective. IB defines people who are reflective as people who give thoughtful consideration to their own learning and experience. They are able to assess and understand their strengths and limitations in order to support their learning and personal development.
Some ideas for morning meeting topics are below:
- Reflect on how the year has gone so far. What new things have you learned about yourself?
- What has surprised you this year about yourself, your classmates, or your teachers?
- What new things have challenged you this year? Why were these things challenging for you?
- What new things have you been successful with this year? Why were you successful?
- How does reflection help us to become better learners?
- How does reflection help us to become better, more caring individuals?
Important dates/announcements etc.
Grading: teachers please ensure that you are keeping up with grades weekly. As stated in our policy , at least two grades per week should be put in the grade book. Keep in mind that CA's and TWA grades should always be included in report card grades when necessary. These are important assessments and scholars and parents need to be aware of them. However, these grades should not fail a scholar if you have more than enough grades in your grade book. Below are some examples to help you as we move forward in Q2.
