Coal, Were does it come from?

In this chart we see that coal(sliver) over the years has been cheaper than oil(black) is.
Energy from the coal.
As the chart says, coal creates energy from heating water to make steam. When the steam is created it spins a turbine.
How coal energy is used.
On the chart it says other things is what uses the most coal, secondly heating, third other industry, fourth cement plants, 5th steel manufacturing, then lastly making energy.

Smog is when gases mix with the air and cause fog but all it is, is gas.

Co2 is the gas released when coal is burned
Smoke
Smoke is released into the atmosphere when coal is burned. This and the other two are harmful to the environment
