NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, APRIL 16 - GRADING DAY

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE by MONICA ARBOW

Dear Families,

It was wonderful to welcome students back to In-Person Hybrid instruction this week! Students transitioned into their new routines almost seamlessly and were genuinely excited to be back to school in person. When asking CDL students what they enjoyed most about the transition this week, we heard that most are enjoying the smaller class sizes in CDL and more in-depth opportunities to engage with their teachers and peers.

Our arrival and dismissal procedures seem to be working well. As I’ve mentioned before, it’s controlled chaos at those times of day, but as long as everyone is aware of the procedures, things go smoothly. As a reminder, I’m including a map of our traffic pattern to help with any confusion around how to drop off and/or pick up. One thing that parents can help with for arrival is to drop off no earlier than 8:45 a.m. as we do not have staff out supervising until that time.

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility through this transition.

Monica Arbow

NRCO NEWS & EVENTS

NRCO Community Meetings: We have two NRCO meetings this month -- next Tuesday April 13 at 6:00 p.m. AND Wednesday, April 21 at 3:30 p.m.

This month the Nancy Ryles Community Organization (NRCO) is focused on thinking ahead to the 2021-22 school year. The budget is in the works and it’s time to share your family's interests and wants for the future. There has been a lot of transition and change for everyone and now is the perfect time to build a fresh vision for the NRCO. Do you have interests, ideas, clubs or activities you would like to bring to Nancy Ryles? Are there things you want to bring back next year? Bring your thoughts to one of the planning meetings. The Zoom link to be sent by school on Monday afternoon

5th GRADE SEND-OFF

Parents of 5th graders: if you would like to join in planning and discussing some fun ways to send this special group of kids off on their next adventure, please join us next week directly after the NRCO meeting. Tuesday, April 13, (at approximately 7:00 p.m.) directly after the NRCO meeting. We will stay on Zoom and discuss ideas and action items. Use the same Zoom link for the NRCO meeting (sent by the school on Monday afternoon).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Thank you to our volunteers who have been helping Nancy Ryles families this year with deliveries of school lunches, library books, and food boxes through COVID Care! It is greatly appreciated! We are currently looking for one more driver to help with deliveries on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. Please contact Jill Rector if you are interested in helping: 503-913-3966, jillkrector@yahoo.com.

As a reminder, all of our volunteers must be cleared through the district system, BetterImpact. If you have not yet signed up in BetterImpact, please do so. This will allow you to be able to volunteer when we are able to have volunteers back in the building, as well as for activities like COVID Care.
