Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. The organization financially took off when a longtime friend of the couple donated $25 million. Since then Autism Speaks has become the worlds leading organization in Autism awareness.
.65 cents of your dollar will go towards funding research. The other .35 cents goes towards helping families affected by autism.
To help raise money Autism Speaks holds several Walks for Autism as well as marathons all over the nation.
On March 12th Autism Speaks hosted "Speeding For A Cure", in partnership with Nascar. All proceeds went toward Autism Speaks and The Gillen Brewer School.
