End of Year stuff from Rick...
Room Prep For Summer Clean-Up
With summer fast approaching, some of you may be wondering what needs to be done in your classrooms in order to prepare it for summer clean-up. The following are a few things that can be done in order to make things a little bit easier for the caretaker staff. Please keep in mind, we have to remove every piece of furniture from the room in order to properly clean the floor.
1. Make sure all student desks are empty.
2. Make sure your own desk is all clear; nothing on top. Many of the teacher desks will not fit through doors so they will have to be tipped onto their side for removal.
3. Everything off the floor in your closets.
4. All boxes off the floor.
5. Books and boxes stacked on permanent shelves or counter tops.
6. Any tables too wide to fit through the door should be cleared the same as teacher desks.
7. If you want the furniture rearranged, be sure to leave a very detailed map on a piece of paper how you want the furniture put back in otherwise it will be put back exactly the way it came out.
8. No need to move desks into the hallway on the last day. I prefer to clean them in the classrooms before moving them into the hall.
9. If you require garbage bags or clear plastic bags for paper to be recycled, let me know, we have plenty. Full bags of garbage in black bags and paper in clear bags can be set outside your classroom in the hall to be picked up or taken directly out and left beside garbage bins in the parking lot.
Finally, we are having our windows replaced this summer. This means the workers will need to have access to window spaces. We ask that you move all items that are along your window wall.
If there are any questions, by all means please feel free to ask me.
Thanks for your co-operation in this matter. I greatly appreciate it.
Rick
We've Been Adopted!
Things we'll need to think about/do in September:
- class wish lists for books (including French for M. Fleet!)
- organizing our "day" at Indigo (we'll ask students to come and help, our Jayhawks mascot should come and if some staff could do a one-hour shift, that would help)
- library wish list
- make a school banner to go up in Indigo
