Dare to be Different!
Blog: Wise Words
Wise words my friend. Don't let frustration get the best of you. Sometimes asking a student "what's up" is the best tactic. You may be surprised at what you find out. A behavior that makes no sense to you, may make all the sense in the world to them.
Back to School Night Data
Total Attendance = 442 unique families reported by 45 total teachers
Like most years the comments were scattered. This year there were three comments that were mentioned more than once. Some are not directly related to Back to School Night but worth noting:
1. Parents hated Mr. Smith's announcements (sorry, Rob), and felt it interrupted time for the teacher to talk.
2. Textbook codes were a concern
3. More maps to find classrooms (which is something we addressed with the enlarged maps and student council ambassadors....not sure what else to do here? Suggestions welcome.)
Goal and Growth information will need to be entered into PIVOT by September 1. Information on goal and growth plans can be found in the Teacher Evaluation Handbook on pages 11-14. Our building goals remain 90% ISTEP and less than 10% D-F rate.
Still stuck? You can schedule me to come to your room during PREP on any day to assist. Just click on the Calendly link below and pick a meeting time. After you submit we will both be sent Outlook invites.

I also have noticed students are struggling to get to PRIDE with their back packs. I added a minute to the PRIDE passing period to see what happens. I am not letting students know as I think some would move even slower.
