JANUARY 11, 2019

Our students in 5th and 6th grade will soon have the opportunity to participate in an after-school Theater Club! The club will meet from 3-4:30 every Monday and Thursday for 5 -consecutive weeks, with a final evening performance, "Traveling Through Time Game Changers", being held for families and community members on Thursday, March 7th. Students will learn about stage presence, costuming and monologues. Thank you so much to Mrs. Gilsdorf for leading! More information and permission slips will be sent home next week!

Passage-Based Writing Field Test

During the week of January 21st, students in grades 3-8 throughout the Columbia School District will be participating in the online M-STEP Passage-based Writing Field Test. Our participation allows the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to gather important information about the accuracy and validity of the items on the field test and better prepare our students for upcoming assessments.

At no time should your child transport medication to school. All medication must be brought to school by a parent or guardian. A medication administration form must be completed and any prescription medication must have information completed by your treating physician. We are not able to administer medication to your child if these procedures are not followed. We are happy to provide the following treatments when necessary: ice, Band-Aids, soap and water to wash abrasions, and always lots of love.

If your child is going to be absent, please call our Absentee Line @ 592-7981. Please send in a documented excuse if your child had an appointment.

Thank you.

Student safety is very important to us! Therefore, please refrain from parking in the middle lot during drop-off and pick up, as those spots are reserved for parents of preschoolers only. Please consider using the drop-off lane or parking on the side of the building. Thank you so much for you support!

Please make sure that your student has snowpants, boots, a hat and gloves for the outside weather. It is cold outside and we do go outside unless the wind chill is 0 or below. Brrrr!!!
