April 2020

Unprecedent times: Coronavirus

All of us are experiencing unprecedented times which impact the very way we function. The way we interact with each other, shop for necessities, support local establishments, worship, the way we react when someone coughs or sneezes, and of course the way we do school are affected. There isn't a fabric of our way of life that haven't been impacted. Each families circumstances provide its own challenges and overwhelming sense of exhaustion trying to balance work, family, and school. The emotional and mental well-being of your family and children's lives are of the utmost importance. Children are going to remember this period of time for the rest of their lives. When they reflect back what are their memories going to be. I hope that the memories are going to be how families connected with each other, laughed, cried, cared, loved, learned, and thrived.

Picking up Schoolwork

Hello,

The teachers and staff have been busy putting together school materials for their students to complete over the next couple of weeks. They'll be communicating with you about when your pick-up times will be (mainly JK - 2nd). I think one of the hardest things during pick-up is going to be fighting the urge to want to stay and talk with the teachers. We all want to embrace the opportunity to talk and stay connected, however, it is extremely vital for the safety and health of everyone that we move quickly through this process. Staff will hand you the packet of information through the passenger side window. We are hoping to move this process along quickly. We understand that you may need to have your child(ren) with you at the time of pick-up. Please remind your students that their teacher won't be able to high five or hug them as well as not have much time to talk. This is extremely difficult for all of us to need to fight the urge to socialize.
