Principal's Message
Dear Noddin Community,
After an unusually warm past couple of days, we are definitely now entering the fall season, one of my favorite times of year. I know many students and families are looking forward to the fall and winter holiday season!
I want to reach out to you with an update regarding Halloween. As a school district, in remaining in line with both parent volunteers on campus for educational or enrichment purposes only and limiting the amount of people on campus outside of USD staff, we are unfortunately not able to have spectators or volunteers on campus on Halloween for a parade and class parties.
I know this may be a disappointment for some, but we still have to be very careful for the health and safety of all. Additionally, we want to continue with our success regarding COVID mitigation strategies on-campus.
The staff and I still plan to make Halloween special and fun for the students! We will be having a school-wide Halloween parade for the kids to show off their costumes and teachers across all grade-levels are planning classroom parties or celebrations. Please see the guidelines below when it comes to Halloween at school.
Sincerely,
Eric Scharer
Halloween Celebrations at Noddin, Friday, October 29
Noddin will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 29! The events on this day include in-class parties/activities and a school-wide parade.
Here are some things to know:
Please have your student wear their costume to school. Costumes need to allow students to move freely and participate in all of their normal school activities. Footwear should also be appropriate for school.
We want to encourage positive, child-appropriate costumes. Please remember that we have very young children at Noddin and they will all be seeing the costumes. Therefore, please refrain from:
Blood/gore
Masks
Weapon-like props
Grotesque face paint/make-up
Teachers will notify families regarding classroom specific activities as appropriate.
If you would prefer not to have your student(s) participate in the parade and/or classroom celebrations, please jointly email the teacher(s) and Mr. Scharer at scharere@unionsd.org.
