Word Slayer

Words should be disected, protected, manipulated, beautifully combined, but NEVER abused! Use this section each week to save, not slay, a word (or combination thereof)!

"I". The simple word "I"-how it has suffered! NEVER is "her and I" correct no more than "she and me" will ever be correct. "I" will not be the objective pronoun (opposed to subjective) when referring to yourself! It will be "me". So, please don't ask someone to turn in something to Ms. Teacher and I. The correct pronoun would be "me". In easy terms: "She and I" at the "front" of a sentence or "him and me" at the "back" of the sentence.

Incorrect usage: At the end of the day, please hand in your project to Ms. Slayer or I.

At the end of the day, Ms. Slayer or me will take your project.

Correct usage: At the end of the day, please hand in your project to Ms. Grammar or me.

At the end of the day, Ms. Grammar or I will take your project.
