Happy Sunday Pirates,

It was a great week at Swansboro High School that included underclassmen pictures, SAVE Start with Hello Week, tons of athletic contests and victories and our first round of interim reports. This week at Swansboro High School will include Spanish Spirit Week, federal cards, a lockdown practice drill with students, our Freshmen Tailgate and an action packed week of athletics. The tailgate will be held before the JV football game on Thursday from 2:30-5:30 pm and freshman students who wear their Class of 2027 t-shirt will get in for free! Students will be able to enjoy food, fellowship, activities, and more!

Our Foreign Language Club is excited to host Spanish Spirit Week. See the flyer for details on daily activities. Next week is Homecoming Spirit week and the homecoming dance. Homecoming Dance is October 7th from 8pm-11pm, tickets go on sale Friday September 29th through Thursday October 5th. Sales will be during lunches, there will be no sales after Thursday October 5th . Tickets are $15 for a single person and $25 for a couple. To be eligible to go students must have less than 5 tardies and absences, may not receive ISS/OSS the 2 weeks leading to the Dance, and all fees must be paid. If you wish to bring a date from another school, you must pick up an out-of-school date form from the office - this form will be turned in at the time you purchase tickets. SCA will be hosting a bonfire Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 7:00pm. There will be snacks and activities to help celebrate Homecoming week!

Congratulations to our athletic teams on their victories last week. They included JV and varsity volleyball wins at Southwest and a JV tie and varsity soccer win at Northside on Monday. JV volleyball brought home additional wins against West Carteret and Dixon. Varsity soccer defeated Coastal Christian and ladies tennis won their match against White Oak. This week in athletics will include volleyball at home, soccer at Croatan and golf at Star Hill on Monday. Tennis will host Richlands and volleyball will travel to White Oak on Tuesday. Cross Country will host a meet on Wednesday. Tennis will travel to West Carteret, soccer to Richlands and JV football will host Richlands on Thursday. Varsity football will compete at Richlands on Friday. Cross Country will compete in the Onslow County Meet at NE Creek Park on Saturday.

Parents of seniors are reminded that baby pictures are due by tomorrow and graduation orders are due on October 5, 2023. Federal cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Please note that it is a federal requirement that all students have a completed federal card on file. Please sign and return on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
