For the month of January our 7 Mindset focus is THE TIME IS NOW.

what you can do."

Time Is Now
Parents, we have made it through the first half of the school year! It has flown by! It was a great first semester. We have seen so much growth from our students.
At this time in the year, we begin running out of supplies. Can you please make sure that your student has pencils, paper, colored pencils, tape/glue, etc.? Teachers also begin running out of sanitizer, cleaning wipes and Kleenex. They would appreciate any donation you are able to make.
The 3rd nine weeks can be challenging for students academically. Please help your student stay on top of their work. Below, I have linked and provided instructions on how to see your child's grade in Parent Portal. If you have any questions please reach out to us, we would be glad to help you.
As always, thank you for your support!
Do you know your child's grades?
If not here is how you can stay connected!
Parents, grades are available for you to check at any time through Parent Portal. The website is https://ps.mustangps.org/public/ and instructions about how to create an account or get help is on the website. Students also have an account and they know how to check their own grades.
If you need help please email Mrs. Giblet (gibletj@mustangps.org) or call the front office at 405-256-5250.

GRIT ASSEMBLIES
We are so excited to get back to in person GRIT Assemblies! During these assemblies, we will recognize our Mindset Award winners.
We have these in the cafeteria at 8:00 and they are typically wrapped up by 8:20. They take place the last week of the month, 5th grade will be on Thursday and 6th grade will be on Friday. If your student is receiving an award the teacher recognizing them will contact you and invite you to the assembly.
We look forward to having parents and families back in the building to celebrate our amazing students!
- FROM THE COUNSELORS
How to Reduce Big Feelings (Anger, Anxiety, etc.):
- We will be taking our STATE TESTS in late April and beginning of May, please try to avoid making Dr.'s, orthodontist or therapy appointments if at all possible in the mornings.
- Social Emotional Learning Coping Skills:
- General:
- For students struggling with new schedules, this is a great time to reiterate that there are positives! They get to make new friends, learn something new, and they never know when they will impact someone else's life for the good!
- Third quarter is a very important academic part of the school year. Often, however, the "new" of school has worn off for some students. This is a great time to encourage looking at school with fresh eyes and finish the "race" of this grade with consistency and diligence.
- Kindness Week is coming up in February!
District Kindness Shirts
The district is selling Kindness Shirts and bags you can order them HERE!
Shirts are $12.
Canvas Totes are $10.
