Holly Springs families!
We are excited to kick off our Holly Springs Fun Run on 9/23 (Tk 3&4) 10/04 (Tk 1&2). Our goal is to raise $30,000 for Upgrades to outdoor spaces and to strengthen our school community.
Our school has always relied on fundraising to provide exceptional opportunities to enhance student learning. And this year, we have more needs than we’ve ever had before, which means we need your support more than ever.
We completely understand if your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at mybooster.com. Sharing IS supporting!
Just as we worked to safely return to school this year, we are also safely hosting this essential fundraiser based on our school’s current guidelines. We’ll send more details, as we get closer to our kick off.

Virtual Curriculum Night
We are excited about our upcoming 21-22 Holly Springs Elementary School Virtual Curriculum Night. Our goal is to provide you the opportunity to learn about your child's classroom, curriculum, and much more. There will be two sessions offered by each teacher. This will allow you time to virtually visit multiple classrooms if needed. The teacher sessions will provide you with information about your child's classroom. Your child's teacher will provide you with a Google Meet link to use to join their session. Those links are also on slide three. The teacher sessions will be your priority for the night.
This virtual event will also offer two curriculum night sessions, where you have an opportunity to learn about other topics of interest. Those sessions will take place from 6:15-6:40 and 6:45-7:15. The curriculum session Google Meet links are provided on slide four along with the topics. We are also offering a book read-aloud by Mr. Moore for students to join (this is optional).
Thank you for all that you do! We look forward to having you attend our Virtual Curriculum Night event.

Bus Riders
Traditional school begins on Monday, August 23. Due to a bus driver shortage, WCPSS Transportation has had to adjust many bus routes. HERE is a letter that was sent home with your child on August 18th. Please be sure to check your student’s AM and PM stop times (click here to view the bus routes). Stop times are subject to change as further adjustments may need to be made through the month of August.
Students should be ready and waiting for the bus at least 10 minutes prior to pick up. There is a lot of change at the start of the new school year as new students begin riding the bus and learning to use the bus service. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
COVID-19 School Protocol Changes

Positivity Project: Track 1 - Project Based Learning
This week students will begin a project-based learning activity. Project Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional delivery model that allows students to explore an authentic, real-world task and challenges them to create a unique solution. Through the process, students will have opportunities to research and inquire, develop a unique solution, focus on reflection and feedback, and, finally, share their solution with an audience. PBL for The Positivity Project (P2) will focus on developing the 24 character strengths and the Other People Mindset.
Positivity Project: Tracks 3 & 4 - Integrity
This week students will focus on integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. People with integrity practice what they preach and maintain a consistent pattern of behavior aligned with their values. They have the courage not to follow the crowd if it means going against their beliefs. Integrity is closely aligned with the terms of honesty and authenticity. People with integrity tell the truth and have alignment in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
“To believe in something and not live it, is dishonest.”
-MAHATMA GANDHI
P2 for Families
P2 for Families is an easy and effective way for families to discuss the importance of character strengths and positive relationships. It is differentiated for grades Pre-K – 2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each character strength follows a 1-1-3 model: 1 quote, 1 video, and 3 questions to drive conversations around character at home.
Please choose your child’s grade level on the site linked HERE to be directed to all of the character strengths. CODE NEEDED: P2

Technology Tips & Resources
💧 Please do not pack full water bottles inside backpacks with Chromebooks. We have already had a few incidents this year with broken Chromebooks due to water bottle spills.
Some great alternatives: Carry your water bottle, use the outside pockets on your backpack if available, or bring an empty water bottle and fill it up at school.
