Mrs. Stevens' Update
May 4, 2015
Hello, Benefield family. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! I hope your week is filled with tokens of appreciation for your hard work and dedication to the profession. This is a very exciting week in the Stevens’ household! My oldest daughter is graduating from Grambling State University. I know those of you who are experiencing this journey with me or who have experienced this journey before know my joy. I am even more elated that she decided to dedicate her life to molding young minds. This week’s quote is dedicated to my favorite young lady. One of her favorite quotes is “If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn” -Ignacio 'Nacho' Estrada. Photos of my love are below. I am a very proud mommy!
I will be at Benefield one day this week and will spend this time visiting classrooms. I have a leadership meeting on Wednesday and am taking personal time on Thursday and Friday for my daughter’s graduation in Louisiana. Looking ahead, I plan to be at Benefield on May 13 and May 20. May 13 will be spent visiting classrooms. A SignUpGenius invitation link will be sent to you via next week’s newsletter to schedule times with me on May 20.
As you know, we will be a late school next year. Staff hours will be 7:50-3:50 and student hours will be 8:20-3:20. We would like to start receiving students at 8:00 a.m. This; however, will be determined after we receive the estimated time of arrival from transportation. Collaboration Tuesdays will start on Tuesday, September 1. Since we will be reporting to work at 7:15 a.m. on Collaboration Tuesdays, we will start working a flexible 40-hour schedule the week of August 31. Our flexible 40-hour schedule will be as follows:
