The Polser Pride
The Week of April 8th - April 12th, 2019
Reminders this Week:
All,
First, let me thank all of you, that I have met with to review our Panorama data, for your insight and suggestions. Please know I am learning and appreciate your feedback. I do want you all to know how much I appreciate your hard work every day.
It's our first STAAR week. There will be a "pep rally" in the halls for our 5th graders on Monday, April 8th at 8:45 a.m. Please have all of your students lined up in the hallways to cheer them on. You are welcome to make signs, have noise makers, and pom poms. I know you all have worked so hard to get them ready! Thank you 5th grade teachers-they will do great. Thank you 4th grade for getting our kids ready to write some amazing compositions.
Remember that April 9th and 10th are STAAR days and closed to all visitors. Make sure you let parents know. I have included that in my SMORE as well.
We are short staffed in the office. Tracy Vinson is helping out, and has been GREAT however Jocelyne and Linnette are covering attendance and enrollment, as well as Secretarial and Clerk duties. Please be patient and understanding as we are receiving a transfer for our Attendance Clerk position and that will not start until next school year. I will announce ALL new hires once they are finalized by Employee Services which will happen after the Job Fair next Saturday, April 13th.
Please complete your pink and blues and be ready for April 15th, K, 1st, & 2nd & April 16th, 3rd, & 4th grade. Summatives will begin the week of the 15th so make sure you have read my email about what things need to be completed and submitted to your appraiser.
Kevin's Retirement Party is Thursday, April 11th, at 4:00 p.m. at La Hacienda Ranch in Frisco. I hope you are all able to attend.
Make sure you are contacting your volunteers about the Volunteer Breakfast on Wednesday, April 17th, 7:15-8:30 and sending home your invitations. Make sure and take turns covering for each other to pop in and thank all of our wonderful volunteers and everything they do for us.
Jocelyne will be handing our boxes today at 3:00. If you would like to wait to collect your boxes that is not a problem. You will need to schedule a time to meet with Jocelyne to collect your items.
Last call for banquet tickets on April 26th! Please let Jocelyne know if you need to purchase a ticket to celebrate our retirees and Coach Angela Cross, district finalist for Elementary Teacher of the Year!!!
Congratulations Tracy Rutan, Amber Myers, Erin Crozier, & Becky Ingram on completing your STEM Certification. We will celebrate you all on April 17th!
Polserfest is Thursday, April 18th from 6:30-8:00. Please make sure you are able to make an appearance. This is a large fundraiser for Polser and we want to show our support. We have a nice long weekend on the horizon....April 19th-April 22nd. I hope you all are able to get some much needed rest as we pack up our rooms and offices, and finish our year strong!
Thanks for all you do. You are welcome to leave after all of your students have left for the day.
Have a great weekend!
Lisa
